born 30 January 1841 in Warren County< Pennsylvania (twin); died 16 February 1920 in Elkhart, Indiana; married, 25 June 1857, Joshua Lloyd, born 1831 in Ohio. Joshua was a son of Eramus Lloyd. Joshua died 11 October 1864 in the Confederate Prison at Andersonville, Georgia. Marilla received a widow's pension. By 1866, Marilla was living in Elkhart, Indiana. By 1880, shortly after her brother William W. Alcorn' wife Lydia died, she was living with her brother and his three young children in Elkhart, Indiana.
In 1860, Joshua, Marilla and daughter Eva were living next door to James and Violet (Alcorn) Lloyd in Deerfield Township, Warren County, Pennsylvania (also in this area at the same time was James and Mary Alcorn Henderson and their family).214 One would suspect that James and Joshua were brothers—they were both born in Ohio according to the federal censuses. In 1880, Marilla and daughter Eva B Lloyd, were living with Marilla's brother William W. Alcorn and his family in Kossuth County, Iowa.215

Seldom does a death visit a community to cause deeper sorrow and regret to all of the community than did the untimely passing of one our best men and one of most loved citizens of the east side W. W. Alcorn. . . . He was sick only a few days with the dread disease, pneumonia. . . .
William Wilson Alcorn was born in Tidioute, Penn. 10 December 1845 and died on Feb. 13, 1917. . . . He was married on Dec. 10 1868 to Lydia A. Maxon. To this union four children were born, Misses Ida E. and Edith May Alcorn and Mrs. C. L. Johnson of Ardmore, S. D., and U. R. Alcorn of Radcliffe, Iowa. Mr Alcorn's first wife died Nov. 13 1879. On Oct. 2 1880 he was married to Ida M.
Gray. To this union there were born nine children, Mrs. Florence M. Mast of Abilene Kas., William Merwin, Ralph Elton, Mrs. Essie M. Carter, Asa Allen, Wilbur Loyd, Bernice Irene and Ora Lucille. Those of the children who have preceded their father are Ida E., Edith May, Ralph Elton and Wilbur Loyd.
Mr. Alcorn moved to Indiana when about 13 years of age. In 1875 he moved on to Kossuth County, Iowa, and in 1903 came to his present home near Windsor. . . .(undated clipping sent to me in 2010 by Denise Tracy).
