102. WILLIAM4 BOYD POOR (Elizabeth3, Samuel2, James1); born 8 June 1852; married 1 April 1877 ELLEN NASH, born September 1857 in England.238 In 1880 William and Ellen, were living next door to William’s parents in Oil Creek Township, Venango County. In 1910, William (wife not listed) was in Oil Creek Township, Venango County, where William was enumerated as a farmer.239

  235 ii. Glen R. Poor; (enumerated as Robert G. in 1930), born September 1885 in Pennsylvania, married Pearl Cumbey, born 1896 in Arkansas. In 1920 and 1930 Glen, Pearl and children were living in Oklahoma, where Glen was listed as an engineer in the oil fields in 1920 and a driller of oil wells in 1930.

109. JULIA4 L. HENDERSON (Joseph3, Samuel2, James1); born 1859; still alive in 1949 at age 90; married 18 February 1891 JOHN H. LEWIS;243 born circa 1856 in Pennsylvania, died 1933. John was a farmer. They lived in the Gresham area, Oil Creek Township, Crawford County, near Pleasantville, Pennsylvania.244 Patricia Heinen (1992), pages 470–472, reports an interesting Titusville Herald (undated) interview with Julia (Henderson) Lewis when Julia was age 90. For example: “… The Hendersons, said Mrs. Lewis, had so many cousins that when I went riding with my father in the buggy it seemed every farm we passed that a cousin was living there . . .”

  236 i. Robert5 J. Lewis; born 19 March 1897; died 8 October 1991; married (first) Mildred Brown, born 1896 in Pennsylvania; married (second) Pearl Dean. Children of Robert and Mildred known from the 1930 federal census, when the family was living in Crawford County, Pennsylvania, and Robert was listed as a farmer (all born in Pennsylvania):245 (1) Howard Lewis, born circa 1919; and (2) Joseph Lewis, born circa 1925.

  238 iii. Florence Lewis; born circa 1905; married (first) R. J. Brandon, born 1902 in Pennsylvania; married (second) Guy Brown.
Children of R. J. and Florence Brandon known from the 1930 federal census, when the family was living in Franklin, Pennsylvania, and R. J. was listed as a laborer in a rolling mill (all born in Pennsylvania):

112. LEOLA4 HENDERSON (Joseph3, Samuel2, James1); born circa 1871; died 1952 or 1953; married 18 August 1899 ANDREW C. WATSON, born 20 February 1872 in the Shamburg area, Oil Creek Township, Venango County; died 1942 in Titusville. In 1920, Andrew was an operator of a pump station; at this time Leola's father, Joseph C. Henderson, age 85, was living with the family. In 1930, Andrew was farming in Crawford County. Pennsylvania; at this time Andrew's brother Fred B. Watson, born circa 1866, was living with the family.248

Andrew Watson’s great–grandparents were John and Rebecca Bradley Watson; Andrew’s grandfather was Thomas Bradley Watson; and Andrew’s parents were John and Nancy Irene Lacy Watson.

114. PERCY4 J. HENDERSON (Joseph3, Samuel2, James1); born December 1873 in Pennsylvania; married Cora Burrows, born January 1878 in Pennsylvania. In 1920, the family was living next door to Percy's sister Ida and her family in the Titusville area, where Percy was a farmer. In 1930, Percy was a laborer in a refinery.

116. WILLIAM4 H. FOLWELL (Sarah3, David2, James1); born 24 March 1839; died 4 December 1901;250 married LUCY MILLER, born February 1843,251 died 26 October 1912.252 In 1910 Lucy Folwell, born circa 1843 was living in Venango County, Pennsylvania, at which time William was deceased.253 William’s will,254 written 14 January 1892, recorded 19 December 1901, mentions wife Lucy (also executrix) and sons M. F. and L. J. Folwell; witnesses were Samuel L. and Hannah Fleming. In 1870, William, Lucy and Marion (Myron?) Folwell were enumerated in Shamburg, Oil Creek Township, Venango County.255 Also in the household was an Emily, age 18, presumably, Folwell; perhaps she was Emma Folwell (#120), born 1852, a sister of William Folwell. In 1880, the family, now with Linden, were still in Oil Creek Township.256

Lucy Miller was a daughter of T. F. and Catherine (Schnure) Miller, these Millers coming to Venango County, eventually to Cranberry Township, from Union County, Pennsylvania in 1835.257 Lucy had 14 siblings including William H. Miller, whose biography is in Bell (1890), page 1146. Lucy Folwell’s will258 mentions sons Filetus and Linden, granddaughter Sarah and grandson Glenn but without surnames.

From Newton (1879), page 622:
W. H. Folwell, the oldest son of Nathan Folwell, was born March 24 1839, in Pleasantville. His father was born in Dempseytown, and now lives in Pleasantville. In 1861, W. H. Folwell married Lucy Miller of Cranberry township. Mr. Folwell has always lived in Oilcreek township and followed farming.

Linden and Elizabeth Folwell had at least one known child:
(a) Glen M. Folwell born circa 1906 in Pennsylvania. In 1910, Linden was living in Venango County with his mother and wife, Elizabeth, and son Glen M. Folwell, age 4, born circa 1906. Glen M. Folwell was probably the Glenn Folwell, born 1906 in Pennsylvania (both parents born in Pennsylvania), with wife Harriet [—?—], born circa 1924 in New York and child Wilhelmina Folwell, born circa 1927 in New York. This Glenn was enumerated as a veneer worker.261


129. MARY4 EUGENIA HENDERSON (Robert3, David2, James1); born 1847; died 1913; married James Ruland Kerr, born circa 1840 in Pennsylvania. In 1880, James, enumerated as a farmer, and Eugenia were living in Crawford County, Pennsylvania and children.

  246 i. Garrett5 Kerr; born September 1868, a widower in 1900, when Garrett was living with his children (1) Clarence R. Kerr, born October 1892, and (2) Leila Kerr, born May 1896—next door was Garrett's parents.262

151. LOLA4 M. HENDERSON (David3, David2, James1); born July 1854; died 1945; married 1906 Edwin Parshall, born 14 October 1842; died 10 January 1933 in Warren, Conewango Township, Warren County, Pennsylvania.264 Lola apparently was Edwin’s second wife. In 1880 Edwin and first wife Belle [—?—], born circa 1848, and children Clara B., age 7, and Marshall, age 2, were enumerated in Pleasantville.265 Edwin’s parents were George Stranahan and Flora (Thompson) Parshall. According to Heinen (1992), page 372, George Stranahan Parshall was a brother of Samuel Parshall, who married (first) Zibiah Fleming (see #11 in the Fleming web site) and (second) Lucy Henderson (#45), although George was not listed as a brother in Newton (1879), page 622, nor in Schenck (1887), page 458. In 1850, George S., born circa 1820 in Ohio, Flora, born circa 1826 in New York, and children (born in Pennsylvania) Edwin, George E., born circa 1845, and Martha Parshall, born circa 1847, were enumerated in Deerfield Township, Warren County, Pennsylvania. George S. Parshall died intestate, 23 November 1865; a G. W. Parshall administered his estate,266 and during the Orphans Court’s August Term 1868, Flora Parshall petitioned for a guardian of the minor children.267 In 1880, Flora and children Mattie (Martha), born circa 1849, James W., born 1852, Kereley?, born 1859, George S., born 63, were living in Pleasantville,268 not far from Flora’s son Edwin and his family.


156. HIBBARD4 MORELLE HENDERSON (Marcus3, David2, James1); born 6 April 1853 in Oil Creek Township, Venango County; died 19 June 1929 in Jerusalem Corners, Oil Creek Township, Venango County,269 buried in the Jerusalem Corners Cemetery; married (first) Mary K. White; married (second) Coralyn L. Strong, born June 1858; died 6 November 1934 in Jerusalem Corners.270 Hibbard was a farmer

168. WILLIAM4 E. PARSHALL (Lucy3, David2, James1); born 4 April 1866; married Clarissa Holeman, born 1867 in Pennsylvania. The family lived in Pleasantville and then Titusville, Pennsylvania. William was a salesman, and in 1910, Clarissa was listed as a merchant of a grocery store

172. GILBERT4 B. HOTCHKISS (Margaret3, David2, James1); born May 1860 in Pennsylvania; married Minnie [—?—], born March 1867 in Utah. The family was living in Polk County, Nebraska, in 1900 and in Mclean County, North Dakota in 1910.
